Shelley Chi
DVM

Location: Dayton
Practice Limited to Anesthesiology

Dr. Shelley Chi received her DVM from National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan – where she is originally from. She remained at National Chung Hsing University to complete both her rotating internship and small animal residency. Dr. Chi then worked as a veterinarian in general practice before returning to academia for her anesthesiology residency at Iowa State University. Dr. Shelley Chi has accumulated several years of experience as an Anesthesiologist prior to her joining the Care Center team. Dr. Chi has always had a love for learning, and her experiences with volunteering for different animal shelters and wildlife centers sparked her interest in animals at a young age. Dr. Chi’s attraction to the specialty of anesthesia is fueled by her desire to give those patients with higher anesthetic risks a fighting chance to survive their diagnosis. Within her field of anesthesiology, Dr. Chi is able to treat a variety of animals – helping all of them manage their pain and their recovery process. Although she enjoys all that is involved in her specialty, Dr. Chi has a special interest in treating patients with coexisting illnesses, such as those patients with cardiopulmonary disease, renal disease, liver disease, as well as acute and chronic pain. When she isn’t assisting our patients across a variety of specialties, Dr. Chi enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking.
