Dr. Perich earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The University of Tennessee, followed by an internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists. She completed her residency in emergency and critical care at Louisville Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services and became board-certified in 2009. Dr. Perich has a special interest in acute kidney injury and completed certification in hemodialysis therapy – including intermittent hemodialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, and therapeutic plasma exchange in 2019. Additional special interests include pain management and palliative and hospice care, which is why she is currently pursuing her veterinary pain practitioner certification in pain management in dogs and cats. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, board-gaming, ghost-hunting and gardening. She shares her home with her husband, two daughters, and their six furry-legged friends. Memberships include AVMA, VECCS, CVMA, IVAPM.
