Anda A. Young
DVM, MS, DACVECC
Location: Dayton
Critical Care
As a young child, Dr. Anda Young was interested in gaining the trust of semi-feral cats, spending hours building them shelters and offering them food. After shadowing a veterinarian for a middle school project, she knew that being a veterinarian was the career for her. Dr. Anda Young pursued this career, receiving her DVM from The Ohio State University in 2016 before completing her master’s in Veterinary Clinical Sciences in 2020. After completing her Emergency Critical Care Residency at The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center in 2020, Dr. Young found a great deal of satisfaction in emergency medicine, helping families make the best decisions for their – often suddenly – sick pet. Dr. Young enjoys all aspects of emergency and critical care, but takes special interest in postoperative critical care, renal disease, electrolyte derangements, fluid therapy, and coagulation medicine. Some of the most common things Dr. Young treats in our hospital are diseases such as trauma, acute kidney injury, pneumonia, congestive heart failure, neurologic emergencies, lower urinary tract disease, toxin exposure, and so much more. In her spare time, Dr. Young can be found thrift shopping, rehabilitating furniture, indoor gardening, and spending time with her family, including her cat, Lola.
