Dr. Hoffman received his Bachelors in Biology from Xavier University, then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at The Ohio State University. Dr. Hoffman went on to private practice for five years before discovering his true passion, emergency veterinary medicine. Following three years in an after-hours emergency clinic in Cincinnati, he co-founded the Care Center in 2000. After many years managing the Care Center locations in Cincinnati and Centerville, Dr. Hoffman severed as the Group President for Care Center Hospitals in Ohio and AVETS in Pennsylvania under the umbrella of NVA Compassion-First Pet Hospitals. Also the Vice President of Facilities and Infrastructure for NVA Compassion-First Pet Hospitals, Dr. Hoffman was responsible for overseeing all hospital construction projects for the specialty veterinary hospitals within the NVA Compassion-First network. For the last several years, Dr. Hoffman has served on the executive committee of several veterinary organizations, and has spoken to groups all around the country on many topics regarding financial management of specialty/ER practices. In July of 2021, Dr. Hoffman made the decision to retire from veterinary medicine to spend time with his family and friends.
